Lamb to the slaughter, Male Child, Love.

The story which I like most among lamb to the slaughter, male child and love is lamb to the slaughter. I think this story is very well-written as the author could show a sudden change of Mary Maloney in that story. The two main characters of this story are Mr. Maloney and Mrs Maloney. Mr. Maloney who care for his wife as he takes her out for dinner every Thursday. Every Thursday was their time together. However, as the story reaches the climax, Mr. Maloney has changed totally. He became callous, uncaring and not even bothered about leaving his wife although his wife is already pregnant. He is only concerned about his career prospects and therefore, dislike his wife creating a 'fuss'. As for Mary Maloney, she was a loving, caring and loyal wife who is a perfect house-keeper, blissful in her "perfect" world. As the story reaches the climax, another side of Mary Maloney was presented. She murdered her husband. Mary Maloney was presented as a caring wife in the beginning and then changed to a ruthless woman who killed her husband. The impression Mary Maloney presented to the readers is that she is a shrewed, calculating and an extremely talented actress. She shows not a bit of remorse about the death of her husband and takes it very calmly. This is a sharp difference from the Mary Maloney in the beginning of the story. The story ended with Mary's giggles and it is probably because she has gotten away with murder.The best part of Lamb to the slaughter is when it reaches the climax and Mr and Mrs Maloney changes to two very different person from whom they are in the beginning of the story.One could only guess which is the TRUE Mary Maloney...Although Male Child also presented a contrast of the main character, Chuan Poon, I think the contrast is not enough and therefore, the twist in the story is not as much as Lamb to the slaughter. This made it less interesting than Lamb to the slaughter. Love is about a man called Frankie Liew who has a girlfriend called Mee Choo but decided to give her up for another woman called Pearl. Pearl is a materialistic woman who cannot suffer. Frankie Liew eventually returned to Mee Choo. I think this story is not as interesting as Lamb to the slaughter. Another reason why I like Lamb to the Slaughter is because the story line are all linked together closely and makes me want to finish reading the story, therefore I think that Lamb to the Slaughter is the best story among the three.
