I am a Secondary 1 student.My school has a lot of facilities like an auditorium, three basketball courts, five computer labs with 36 computers in each labs, etc. The only bad thing about it is that it is simply too big! I got lost in my new school Hwa Chong Institution, but I can only blame myself. On the three days of orientation, my buddies showed me around the school but I could only remember thirty percent of my school. During the orientation, I thought that I would surely have no problem in remembering the school as my brother's school was nine times smaller than this school (estimated). Although I know that my secondary school would be bigger, as it consists of students from Secondary 1 to Junior College 2, I did not expect it to be so much bigger, therefore I was not mentally prepared to remember the places in the school. On the first day of school when I was on my own, I could not even find my own classroom. I had to ask around and I took 10 minutes to find my classroom. Then, I had to go to the terraces for the morning assembly. I did not know how to go there although my buddies had shown me before. I followed the crowd and was led to the secondary 4 area. I was at a total loss on what to do next. Luckily, I saw my classmates and I quickly ran to my class and settled down. I really regret not remembering the place during the three days orientation. I am now trying to get my way around the school with the help of my seniors. I hope that I can familiarise with the surroundings soon.
