ShuHui(Friend)Opinion:
Communication in a relationship
In simplified term, relationship means a connection, association or involvement between persons. It can be a relationship between father and son, siblings, husband and wife or teacher with students.
Sometime, human’s thinking can be reflected by their behaviors. However, this is not always the case. Our human mind is complex and at times, we ourselves can’t even be sure of what we want or what we are actually thinking, let alone other people.
A perfect example can be shown when a couple was shopping along Orchard Road and they came across a shop which the lady had taken interest in a teddy bear. When the guy offered to buy it for the lady, she replied saying it’s too expensive and there’s no practical usage of the bear so don’t waste money. Hearing those words, the guy therefore did not insist on buying for her. Yet inside the lady’s mind, she might really wanted the teddy bear, so later on their drive home, the lady may start to nag or ask why didn’t the guy buy for her. Now the guy does not know what the lady is exactly thinking and thus may think that she is being unreasonable.
The above example tells us that human cannot really understand each other even if they had lived together for 20 or 30 years. Thus to reduce friction and misunderstanding, it is usually best to communicate what you are thinking or considering to the other. In this way the person will know what you are really thinking and will not have to guess what is exactly going on.
People who practice good communication in a relationship in my opinion usually have a more cheery and stress-less relationship. Therefore, the relationship will be more long lasting.
Crime and Punishment
In my opinion, if someone commits a crime, no matter its trivial or serious, intentionally or unintentionally, you have to receive some form of punishments.
This serves a purpose of sending a severe warning to people, that no matter what reason that caused you to commit crime, you will have to receive punishment.
I feel that teenagers should face more serious punishment to let them realize the seriousness of what they are doing and also to promote a sense of responsibility as the teenagers nowadays are more disrespectful, aloof and wanton. Punishment such as doing community service are way to lenient and in most cases, teenagers does not repent their mistakes, and eventually repeat the mistake again.
However, I do feel that capital punishment should go by a case-by-case basis. No one will commit crime such as murder or drug trafficking without a reason. Sometime they might be forced or threatened to and sentencing them to death penalty might be unjust.
My Opinion:
Crime and Punishment
I think that crime and punishment are very closely linked together. Basically, if you committed a crime, it is only right for you to receive the punishment. To me, crime ranges from killing to stealing. Stealing may be a small offence and many people may not take it seriously. However, I think that no matter how small the offence is, it does not mean no crime. Punishment is the consequences for committing crime. Different punishments are input for different crimes. One example is if you were to kill someone, you may be sentenced to death. In this case, killing will be the crime while sentencing you to death will be the punishment. I think that punishment is very important as this will not let the people who committed crime to get away scot-free. By not letting the person who committed the crime to get away scot-free, the victim would not feel that he/she is wronged. Another advantage of punishment is that it will let the person who committed crime to wake up his/her idea and turn over a new leaf, therefore I conclude that punishment is very important while crime should be stopped to prevent people from getting hurt.
Communication in a relationship
I think that it is very important to communicate in a relationship as through communication, we will be able to know the character of each other, the likes and dislikes of each other, and many more things. In short, we will be able to understand each other better. Understanding each other in a relationship is very important. It will enable the two persons to live together harmoniously as they would not do what each other dislike and irritate each other. This will strengthen their relationship. I think that understanding each other is also related to respecting each other. It is important to respect each other be it in decision or the person himself/herself. We should also be understanding and accept the good and bad of the person so that the relationship can carry on. In other words, communicating which leads to understanding, in a relationship, is very important.
